Ujjwal to represent city in Lead India national finals

After the highs and lows, the euphoria and heartache of the selection procedure, the mild-mannered human resources manager from Akansha, a non-profit organisation that shelters and educates street kids, has emerged as the city winner in the Lead India campaign. He nipped past actor Rahul Bose and homeopath Monica Matani in a close contest to make it to the winning post.

Ujjwal Banerjee, who grew up in Agra, is an engineer and an MBA, who went to the prestigious NITIE. Like thousands of other youngsters, he began his career with the corporate sector, working with Tata Consultancy Services—but simultaneously volunteeered with Prerna, an NGO that works for the children of sex-workers in the heart of Mumbai's red-light district.

Hear him speak on 3rd November , 6.30 PM at NITIE lawns as part of Cita-de-la Prerana.
